As part of its vocation as a conduit for images, Cinéfac is delighted to present Lumière sur l’Argentique again, from April 1 to 8, to round off its program.
The Clermont-Ferrand university film club is committed to film projection, continuing to hold 35 mm screenings and training some of its volunteers in film projection. At a time when this medium, the very essence of cinema, is tending to be replaced by digital projection, Cinéfac is organizing Lumière sur l’Argentique! a four-day event focusing on film, alternating workshops, lectures and screenings, in partnership with several cinemas (Les Ambiances, Le Rio) and cultural organizations in the city (Sauve qui peut le court métrage, UCA, Archives départementales…). It’s a way of (re)discovering reels of film at a time when cinema is becoming increasingly dematerialized, both in terms of the way moviegoers consume their films and the way cinemas work, replacing old reels with hard disks.
