In 2000, Vidéoformes hosted my installation “Variation autour des Ménines - 1”. It was during the 15th Vidéoformes that I met the American artist C.M. Judge. This encounter gave rise to the international collective of women video artists, FemLink-Art, which today includes 145 artists from 63 countries. The collective celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. In 2026, we'll be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the first broadcast of our joint videos on the theme of Fragility, presented in the USA in Boston during the WCA (Women Caucus for Art). Thanks to our joint presence at Vidéoformes, we've built up a collective that's quite unique in terms of its longevity, the number of guest artists, the number of nationalities represented and the number of videos created (nearly 500). Many thanks to the festival!

Mon histoire avec Videoformes et Gabriel Soucheyre remonte à de nombreuses années, à une époque où j'étais jeune, agité et explorateur. J'ai réalisé des œuvres sauvages pour la télévision, des installations à petite et grande échelle, et j'ai apprécié la camaraderie des artistes qui se réunissaient à Clermont-Ferrand. À chaque étape, j'ai été soutenue, encouragée, exposée et célébrée. Ce fut un honneur et une bénédiction d'être associée à Videoformes, en particulier cette année. Videoformes m'a donné une communauté à rejoindre et m'a demandé d'aller au-delà de mes limites pour présenter de nouveaux artistes à cette institution exceptionnelle. J'ai été récompensé par la joie et l'empathie que m'ont témoignées des marginaux comme moi. Lorsque je pensais ne pas faire partie d'un « monde » particulier, Videoformes me rappelait que ce n'était pas grave, que je n'étais pas seule. En 2014, lorsque j'ai décidé de revenir aux arts médiatiques à temps plein, la première personne à m'encourager a été Gabriel ; et la première grande exposition que j'ai appréciée a été la première de « V+M » à Videoformes. D'une certaine manière, je doutais de pouvoir réaliser des œuvres du niveau dont je rêvais avec ce travail, mais la collaboration avec Gabriel et l'équipe de VF m'a convaincu que j'en étais capable. Le projet était énorme et la première a été glorieuse. Lors de l'ouverture, les gens dansaient dans la Chapelle de l'Ancien Hôpital général, entourés de 9 canaux projetés de Dieux, de musique et d'amour. Sans leur soutien enthousiaste, je n'aurais pas pu réaliser une telle œuvre, qui a connu un grand succès.

“This work, which illustrates forms and textures imagined in a coniferous forest, is one of the first digital hybrids I created and one of the most appreciated. I was deeply fascinated by the experience of immersing myself in both the physical and digital realms, walking, playing, imitating and co-creating tactile and diverse forms, while developing my visual vocabulary. For me, this experience embodies the inner joy of creation, the freedom to follow one’s intuition and the simple pleasure of play.”
