Memories of an Exhibition | Benjamin Bardou | 2024 | France | 8’45

This film explores the persistence of works of art in our minds by evoking their memories rather than the works themselves through reminiscences of paintings by Bonnard, Kandinsky, Klimt, Matisse, Monet and Van Gogh.

Victory over the Sun | Polly T | 2024 | Russia | 6’26

101 years ago, the Budetlyans rose up against the sun — and defeated it. But the thirst for light is so great that you can be seduced by any promise, any words, so strong is the need to fill the darkness.

NEXT | Jeremy Oury | 2024 | France | 6’50

This powerful immersive experience transports you to a future where humanity has irreversibly transformed its environment. It offers a nightmarish and predictive vision of what awaits us if we don’t profoundly change our lifestyles.

Subotopic | Nikki Schuster | 2023 | Austria, Germany | 7’00

In Subotopic, the viewer’s gaze dives below the water’s surface downwards into ever deeper layers of water. In morphed single-frame switching, bizarre pictorial plants and insect creatures pass by the viewer. One dives into lightless spaces until one penetrates a surface of light again. Diving deeper and deeper, existing parallel worlds are made visible under water and new utopias are created.

When the Hawk Comes | Sofya Kuznetsova | 2024 | Armenia | 5’58

It is a sad, poetic metaphor for what is happening in the world today. The plot and melody of an Armenian lullaby are taken as a starting point, where a mother tries to calm her son by offering to make a symbolic choice of a destiny bird.

Moskitos | Susana Ojeda | 2024 | Austria | 16’08

In the shadow of Vienna’s landmarks, ‘Moskitos’ unveils the collapse of a capitalist civilization, as resilient mosquitoes become messengers of a world reclaimed by nature.
